Ia menjelaskan bahwa kedatangan camat nonaktif itu memicu kecurigaan setelah lampu teras rumah sempat dimatikan, kemudian dinyalakan kembali. Tak lama berselang, lampu ruang tamu juga ikut dipadamkan.
Merasa ada kejanggalan, sekitar 30 menit kemudian Zamzami memanggil Ketua RT setempat serta sejumlah warga untuk memastikan situasi di dalam rumah. Ketua RT kemudian menghubungi pihak kepolisian guna mengamankan lokasi dan mencegah hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan.
Saat penggerebekan dilakukan, warga mendapati Hajar Asmara berada di bawah kolong tempat tidur di kamar Yunita Rahayu. Situasi sempat memanas, namun aparat kepolisian yang tiba di lokasi berhasil mengendalikan keadaan. Selanjutnya, Hajar Asmara diamankan dan dibawa ke Polsek Selebar, Kota Bengkulu, untuk dimintai keterangan lebih lanjut.
